Just an idea, but this thought crosses my mind over and over...
Take a longer view... Plan for a future with a K-12 super campus. A campus with state of the art science labs, lecture halls, library, gymnasiums, theater, and sports fields. A campus with large playing fields and even possibly it's own nature reserve. A campus with full time professionals such as psychologist/nurse/hygienist/speech therapist and the like... It could be very beautifully done and serve all town students for many generations.
Costs of running a K-12 are significantly lower and service is up way higher in schools like this. Imagine just one single bus garage with great mechanics on duty, one building to maintain with state of the art equipment and the security for students not needing to change schools and having access to vocational labs such as a great wood-shop, computer labs, etc.etc. Special education on site and students can access help easier and become more and more familiar with their school as they grow. I went to a K-12 school and found it to be very cutting edge and ahead of it's time. I was unfortunately in a special ed program that I should not have been selected for however I feel that because I went to such an amazing K-12 school I was able to overcome that obstacle much better.
I had free sealants administered by our school dental hygienist.... That stands on its own as amazing!
